Our Crazy Family

These photos might make us look like a family who knows how to have fun, but don't let them fool you. I had my camera in one tripod and a gun in another, so they were forced to look so loving and happy.

We spent a 'thankful weekend' at the Oregon Coast the weekend before Thanksgiving. We also had a surprise bithday party for those who had upcoming birthdays. My dad (Papa), my sister-in-law (Aunt Rachel or Anchel) and my brother-in-law (Uncle Scott). My grandparents brought grab bags, hats and silly sunglasses, my sister brought balloons and I made cupcake cones (YUM). That night was a definite blast but the whole weekend was definitely memorable.

Of course, let's not forget shots of Emmers!

Fall

Bouncing around...

... and checking out a birthday cupcake.

Nope, she never ate it.

Mia's Birthday Party

This is Mia, Emmalee's best friend. She turned two on Halloween. They had not seen each other for one week and one day, quite a long time considering they've been together 5 days a week for one whole year. I was afraid they would be shy or snub each other a bit, but they got along fantastically! They ran all around the house yelling, holding hands just like the good old days.

For a two-year-old, Mia is really into fashion. She picks out her clothes each day and she has what we call a 'shoe fetish'. So we got her a bag containing 6 pairs of dress-up shoes for her birthday. Apparently, someone else knew how fond of shoes Mia is because by the end of the party Mia had a dozen pairs of dress-up shoes!

She looked so cute all dolled up in her new clothes and sunglasses, I actually did feel like paparazzi taking shots of her!

Corvallis, we'll miss you.

It was picturesque on our way home today. One side of town was dark gray and raining and the other side was clear, blue sky and sunny. The sushine made the raindrops look like fairy dust coming down from the sky. I became a tad bit weepy as I looked around at the very little traffic surrounding me and realized that things are really going to change in less than two weeks. I will miss Corvallis dearly. As we arrived home we saw a big rainbow, so we let the groceries sit in the van for a few extra minutes while Emmalee ran around outside and I took some shots with my new camera.

After unloading all of the groceries, I looked down and saw that my zipper was down. It occured to me that I went to the Shutterbug, K-mart and Safeway with my zipper down the whole time. After I lay down Emmalee for a nap, I hear dripping coming from the bathroom. I wonder if she's woken up and is playing around with the faucet. I go in the bathroom and it appears that my airhead neighbor upstairs has overflowed her bathtub and it is pouring down into my bathroom. Wonderful.

A Leinweber Wedding

What a weekend! Sunday was Nathan and Bethany's wedding. Tylor was a groomsman, Emmalee was the flowergirl and I was the photographer. It was hectic. First of all; it was confirmed why we are not 'city people', would never want to live 'in the city' and absolutely despise downtown Portland. It was dark, raining, traffic was awful, there was no place to park, and if you're lucky to find a spot it probably costs at least $14 for a couple of hours. Okay, maybe i'm exaggerating, but it was awful. Tylor said "This is why I chose Alten-Sakai over Geffen Mesher". He was ready to turn the mini-can around and head home. After 20 minutes of driving in circles I thanked my husband for choosing Alten-Sakai, I'm happy as a clam to be planted in the middle of a dense suburb (in twelve days, that is).
