Shrek The Third

Emmalee loves Shrek. I don't know how it began, we never owned any Shrek DVD's, but I think she might have seen it at Papa and Nana's house, plus McDonalds had Shrek EVERYTHING for a while. Anytime she wears a dress she says she's Princess Fiona. So when Shrek The Third arrived in theatres, we thought it would be fun to take her to see it so she could discover what the 'big screen' is all about. We explained to her that there would be lots of other
people and it would be very loud, we get to eat popcorn, etc. We didn't expect to sit through the whole movie, we thought even if she watched half of it, that would be pretty good for a 2-year-old. However, she was mesmerized by this big screen and enjoyed watching it and snacking. She was ready to leave a little early, but we probably only missed the last 10 or 15 minutes. It was an emotional moment for me to look beside me and see my husband and daughter (my 'family'!) with me at the movies! It was just so fun...

~ 50th Anniversary ~

The golden couple; My grandparents; Jack and Patsy Baker

Our entire family got together (a rare event that EVERYONE can be together at the same time and same place), to celebrate our grandparents 50th wedding anniversary. I took some 'couples portraits' while we were together...

Portland Children's Museum

Thanks to my nanny position, I discovered the Portland Children's Museum. The family I work for has a membership so we probably go about twice a month. It was exciting to take Daddy with us for the first time.
